Tips For Brides On Getting the Photographer You Want!!

This past week we have had multiple brides call us to book the same date.  Because we pride ourselves in our work we won’t overbook weddings.  We had to turn away a few brides because of this and we don’t want it to happen to you.  Here are some tips for Brides to ensure you get the photographer you want for your special day.

• Book as soon as you know your wedding date.  We do have brides schedule as early as 1 ½ years in advance, although that isn’t always necessary to book that early we recommend you book with us as soon as you have your date scheduled.
• Keep in mind that after your venue, your photographer should be the next major thing you book.
• Consider changing your date if we are booked and you really want us to do your wedding day photography see if you can change your date.  We realize that isn’t always an option, but who knows maybe a different date could be to your benefit.
• Check out other options, using us for engagement and bridal photography is always an option and hire another photographer for your wedding day if we are already booked.  That way you can at least get the images you want to have pre wedding day.  We had to send you away, but we want you to get the best pictures possible.  If we book every bride for the same day we can’t ensure that will happen.  Our policy at Swensen Photography is to never over book our photographers.  We want EVERY client to love their pictures.
• Realize that popular dates fill up very fast.  Thursdays, Friday’s and Saturdays in the summer are the busiest wedding days of the year.  Dates right after Christmas are also very popular as well as dates right after the college finals and surrounding major holidays.
• We have a bridal show coming up this Saturday, April 17^th at the South Towne Expo Center (click HERE to pre-register for the show) where hundreds of brides will be attending.  Many brides will book with us on the day of the show.  You may want to contact us prior to the show before your date is reserved by another bride.
